Here are some simple shapes that demonstrate the "triangle" approach to chords that is the Django style.  Specifically the C minor 6/9 shape for that full sound, and big power chord on the bottom for crunch.  The C-6 shape "magic chords" are the minor 6 starting on the E string with only there notes (root, 6th, and 3rd) and the half diminished shape starting on the A string.
