DIJ ideas I jotted down quickly. Hope this helps!

Here are some simple shapes that demonstrate the "triangle" approach to chords that is the Django style. Specifically the C minor 6/9 shape for that full sound, and big power chord on the bottom for crunch. The C-6 shape "magic chord" is the minor 6 starting on the low 6th string with only there notes (root, 6th, and 3rd). C, A, Eb. Mute everything else until you are ready to fill out the chord.

The magic chord C-6 shape starting on the low E string can be used for: C- chords with different extensions, F7 chords with different extensions, C dim, C half dim, B7b9, etc. If you are staying on one of these chords for a longer time, starting from this shape makes it easy to fill out all the other specific notes of the chord. Besides B7b9, that's a weird voicing. Your bass player will hate you if you do that one for too long.
